Faculty of Public Health hosted the MU-AHLA Consultative Meeting

On April 10th, 2018, Associate Professor Dr. Nopraenue Sajjarax Dhirathiti,Vice President for International Relations and Corporate Communication delivered welcome and opening remarks to Deputy Director General, Dean, Director and delegates from 16 academic and health institutions in 8 countries including China, India, Indonesia, Japan, Malaysia, Myanmar, Taiwan and Thailand. The MU-AHLA meeting was organized by the Faculty of Public Health, AUN-Health Promotion Network, Mahidol University and Asia Health Literacy Association (AHLA) during April 10 th - 11 th , 2018 at Sataranasookwisit Building, Faculty of Public Health. This meeting aimed to develop strategies to enhance health literacy programs in the ASEAN member countries and to identify and/or create an innovation in a collaborative effort with all partners to complement healthy lifestyle in the region. The meeting started with three presentations: Health Literacy in Thailand by the Deputy Director General of Department of Health, Dr. Amporn Benjapolpitak and Healthy University by Executive director of AUN-HPN, Mahidol University, Dr. Wiwat Rojanapitayakorn, Health Literacy by Secretary General of AHLA, Professor Peter Chang. The interactive and fruitful discussion were facilitated by Dean of Faculty of Public Health, Associated Professor Chanuantong Tanasugarn and Professor Chang. The model of health literacy for better health promotion was discussed and concluded to the future action of ASEAN community via consortium, health literate school/university and curriculum.
