Academic Meeting between FPH-SU and FPH-MU

Dean Tanasugarn of the Faculty of Public Health,Mahidol University (FPH-MU) welcomed Professor Malaka, Dr Amarin, Dr Sarawut and Dr Nopporn from the Faculty of Public Health, Sriwijaya University (FPH-SU). After making introductions, the objectives of the collaborative meeting were identified. Deputy Dean for International Relations and Networking Dr Tipyamongkholgul introduced the FPH-MU using a video clip and presented the profile. Professor Malaka briefly presented the profile of FPH-SU and Dr Amarin, Dr Sarawut and Dr Nopporn presented the program structure of their doctoral programs in environmental technology, occupational health and safety and epidemiology. Both institutions agreed to create an MOU at Faculty level to consider upgrading to University level after proven collaboration. The goals of the MOU will be to 1) develop their faculty member capacity through doctoral programs at FPH-MU, 2) strengthen laboratory capabilities by providing technical support, 3) increase collaborative research projects involving advisors from both institutions, 4) offer short trainings and certificate courses and 5) arrange a four-week MPH field training in Thailand. The collaborative meeting was held 2 May 2018 from 1 to 2:30 pm in Room 1023, Building 1.
