Course 1

Health System Management: Thailand Experiences

Description of the training course The health system management training course is designed to prepare future executives/to enhance management capacity of the administrators to assume responsible positions in health care organization, the training emphasizes three general areas: Healthcare Environment: Organization of the health care system, the utilization and quality of health care, universal health coverage, policy and legal aspects; Management Service: Organization behavior analysis, human resource management, financial analysis and health care reform: Leadership and strategy Strategic planning and leadership behavior with an emphasis on ethical, social and community responsibilities.

Duration: 1 week in August

Approximate fee: 320 US$ per person

Participants: Physicians, Health professionals and Executive administrator

Program requirements: None

Certification after finishing the course: The certificate will be presented to all attendances who attend at least 80% of all activities.

Course 2

Community based training program

Description of the training course This course is a community based training including both desk and field works. The course will provide insight experiences regarding health system in Thai from the national level to community level. Direct expose to the community, to practice community assessment, problem identification and problem solving. All attendances will have opportunities to learn culture of each target community.

Duration: Two weeks

Approximate fee: 1400 US$ per person

Participants: Physicians, Health professionals, undergrad or graduate student in health sciences

Course 3

Occupational Health Nursing: Health services management in occupational setting

Description of the training course The 3-day program, including 2-days lectures and 1-day site visit, will prepare nurses to gain the knowledge and skills to assess and promote employee health, prevent injury and disease, managing ill or injured employees as well as develop compliance strategies to address health and safety legislation. The training will include site visit to setting providing outstanding occupational health services.

Duration: Three days

Participants: Nurse and graduate student in health sciences

Course 4

Outcome-based research for policy decision

Description of the training course This course will provide concepts of outcome-based research, outcome measures by world class speakers who invented the world-wide software to estimate quality adjusted survival. All participants will be able to access the tools and to practice on example data.

Duration: One week

Participants: Medical doctors, Statisticians, Epidemiologists, Public Health Profession

Course 5

Food inspector

Description of the training course This course will enhance the capacity of Public Health staffs on periodic inspections of facilities, equipment, practices, etc. in various food establishments to ensure food safety and sanitation systems. All participants will gain experiences in both in classroom and actual practices at several famous food industrials and markets in Thailand.

Duration: Five days

Course 6

Industrial Air Pollution Management

Description of the training course This training provides an introduction to major aspects of air quality science and its control technology, including an overview of many current air pollution problems, from local to continental scales; a discussion of air pollutant characteristics, natural and anthropogenic sources, transport and transformations in the atmosphere; a presentation of the models that are used to predict dispersion and air pollutant concentrations; and finally a review of the strategies and key technologies for controlling emissions of gaseous pollutants and particulate matter. Participants will also learn to design air pollution control systems and to calculate treatment system efficiencies from design parameters. This training also examines the complex regulatory and institutional framework controlling air quality management and explains current air quality management concepts. Course 7

Universal Health Coverage and Primary Health Care

Description of the training course Thailand is one of the world best public health infrastructure and implemented PHC and financial models for longer than 40 years. In the past two decades, Thailand has implemented the UHC scheme to reduce health inequity and equality to Thailand population. PHC and UHC have been implemented and improved throughout the implementing time in order to achieve "Health for All" and "Health Equity" among Thai population. Many challenges and successes can be used as the lesson learns for other country.
To provide concept and experiences on PHC and UHC development and implementation to those who eager to learn on the actual experience of Thailand, this training course will focus on 2 Themes: 1) Health system in Thailand and its evolution 2) Thai Universal Health Coverage: Development and Challenges
