Early Career Award

Eligibility

  • ICOH member in good standing.
  • Scientists within 5 years of having completed terminal degree.
  • First author on a submitted abstract for the ICOH-CVD International Conference.

Nomination

  • An abstract submitted for presentation at the ICOH-CVD International Conference.
  • A brief CV or biographical sketch of the nominee, including a publication list (up to five pages in length).
  • Two nomination letters written by the applicant’s advisor and/or research collaborators (up to two pages in length).
  • Self-nominations are encouraged.

Evaluation

  • The abstract is of high scientific quality.
  • The nominee has demonstrated a commitment to work environment and cardiovascular diseases.

Conference Attendance

  • Registration fee waived.
  • Oral presentation at scientific session.

Mid-Career Award

Eligibility

  • ICOH member in good standing.
  • Scientists with more than 5 years and fewer than 25 years past their terminal degree.
  • Ideally holding an independent academic, research or professional position.

Nomination

  • A cover letter from a primary nominator to describe the major contributions of the nominee to work environment and cardiovascular diseases (up to two pages in length).
  • A brief CV or biographical sketch of the nominee, including a publication list (up to five pages in length).
  • Two reference letters to support the nomination from colleagues who are familiar with the contributions of the nominee (up to two pages in length).

Evaluation

  • Exceptional contribution to the research and practice of work environment and cardiovascular diseases.
  • Contributions via teaching, mentoring, and service will be additional considerations.

Conference Attendance

  • Registration fee waived.
  • Oral presentation at semi-plenary session.

Lifetime Achievement Award

Eligibility

  • ICOH member in good standing.
  • Scientists with more than 25 years past their terminal degree.

Nomination

  • A cover letter from a primary nominator to describe the major contributions of the nominee to work environment and cardiovascular diseases (up to two pages in length).
  • A brief CV or biographical sketch of the nominee, including a publication list (up to five pages in length).
  • Up to three reference letters to support the nomination, providing information on the nominee’s significant contributions and impact (up to two pages in length).

Evaluation

  • Sustained contributions to work environment and cardiovascular diseases.
  • Substantial impact on the field occupational and public health.

Conference Attendance

  • Registration fee waived and travel covered.
  • Keynote presentation at plenary session.

All nomination packages should be sent to Prof. Dr. Jian Li, via email (jianli2019@ucla.edu), by January 31, 2025.

The decision will be made by the Award Evaluation Committee:

  • Prof. Dr. Tsutsumi Akizumi, the ICOH-CVD Scientific Committee Chair (2009-2015)
  • Prof. Dr. Alicja Bortkiewicz, the ICOH-CVD Scientific Committee Chair (2015-2021)
  • Prof. Dr. Marco Mario Ferrario, the ICOH-CVD Scientific Committee Chair (2021-2024)
  • Prof. Dr. Jian Li, the ICOH-CVD Scientific Committee Chair (2024-2027)
