Global Health Course between Health and Global Policy Institute- Japan and the Faculty of Public Health, Mahidol University

The Faculty of Public Health, Mahidol University and Health and Global Policy Institute-Japan (HGPI) continued the online collaboration project which has one online lecture and one group work session each month till September 2021. On July 14th, a special lecture was presented by the guest speaker Dr. Reiko Hayashi, Deputy Director-General, National Institute of Population and Social Security Research (IPSS). She presented about the migrant issues in national and international scenario. She also briefed about Sustainable Development Goals (SDG) and elaborated SDG 10; reduce inequalities. In addition, she also compared the health status of different immigrants in Japan. A very interesting and lively question and answer session was conducted after the lecture.

Miss Eri Yoshimura was the facilitator for the session. The session was also attended by Associate Professor Dr. Chanuantong Tanasugarn, Dean of the Faculty of Public Health, Mahidol University, Deputy Dean of International Relations and Networking; Assoc. Prof. Dr Orawan Kaewboonchoo, Assoc. Prof. Dr Kwanjai Amnatsatsue, Lect. Dr. Vallerut Pobkeeree and Officers from International Relations Office.

The project has four phases; Online workshops and lecture (February to September 2021), Research Phase (October 2021 to April 2022), Fieldwork (May to July 2022) in Thailand and Japan and Advocacy work (August to September 2022).

The project is funded by the Toyota Foundations, Japan. It is coordinated by collaboration between the International Relations Unit, the Faculty of Public Health, Mahidol University and HGPI-Japan.
