On Thursday, August 8, 2024, the Faculty of Veterinary Science, Mahidol University, led by Assistant Professor Dr. Sarin Suwanpakdee, Head of the Monitoring and Surveillance Center for Zoonotic Diseases in Wildlife and Exotic Animals (MoZWE), welcomed and provided a special lecture on the topic "One Health Approach and Detection and Management of Avian" to four international students from the School of Public Health, Taipei Medical University, Taiwan. These students participated in a student exchange program with the Faculty of Public Health, Mahidol University. Following the lecture, the international students visited MoZWE’s laboratory, where Dr. Ladawan Sariya, Deputy Head of MoZWE, guided the tour and answered the students' questions. The Faculty of Veterinary Science embraced the role of special lecturer for this event with the aim of promoting knowledge and understanding of the critical connection between animal and human diseases. Additionally, the lecture highlighted the importance of collaboration between human and animal health agencies under the One Health concept. This initiative also seeks to foster positive relationships and develop academic cooperation between Mahidol University and international educational institutions.
