A welcome ceremony was held on November 5 at the Pakorn-Nonglak Sumethanurakkakul Meeting Room, 2nd floor, Satharanasookwisit Building. The event was led by Assoc. Prof. Dr. Kwanjai Amnatsatsue, Head of the Department of Public Health Nursing, together with Asst. Prof. Dr. Alongkorn Pekalee, Deputy Dean for Undergraduate Education and Student Affairs, Asst. Prof. Dr. Natnaree Aimyong, Deputy Dean for Postgraduate and Professional Development, and staff members from the International Relations and Training Unit. During the ceremony, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Kwanjai delivered a comprehensive presentation on the internship program designed for Swedish students and discussed the Health System in Thailand.

The Faculty of Public Health has collaborated with the Sahlgrenska Academy, University of Gothenburg, under a signed Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) since 2019, and has welcomed several batches of Swedish students through this partnership. For the 2025–2026 academic year, Ms. Richter and Ms. Salmeron represent the fifth delegation to participate in the program.

The Internship Program for Swedish Students focuses on Public Health and Global Health in Thailand. This 10-week program offers students the opportunity to gain hands-on experience in community health and public health systems through fieldwork and project implementation. It also allows participants to explore global health issues such as universal health coverage, health promotion, and chronic disease management, while developing intercultural communication skills and learning from diverse international perspectives.

This year’s program was thoughtfully designed to align with Ms. Richter and Ms. Salmeron’s academic backgrounds and research interests. Each field visit and topic was carefully selected to ensure relevance to their expertise. The Faculty of Public Health takes great pride in being part of their learning journey and looks forward to continued collaboration and shared growth in the field of global health.
