Today, Mr. Attapol Charoenchansa, Director-General of the Pollution Control Department, Ministry of Natural Resources and Environment, honored and presided over the opening ceremony of the forum, "PM 2.5 and a new form of proactive management (we are ready)" via online system, i.e., Cisco WebEx Meetings and Facebook Live PH Mahidol, with Associate Professor Dr. Sarawut Thepanondh, Dean of the Faculty of Public Health, Mahidol University, presenting the objectives of this seminar

The joint operation between the Pollution Control Department, Office of the Environment, Bangkok National Research Office, Chiang Mai University and Mahidol University, afforded a good opportunity for all sectors to participate in organizing. As you all know, the PM 2.5 problem is not a new challenge. However, it constitutes a constant obstacle covering many years. Currently, it has become a serious problem in the Bangkok Metropolitan Area, affecting the health of people in all age groups both short and long term. It also supports forming proactive measures in the face of problems, especially the use of PM 2.5 forecasting in formulating preventive measures by local regulators. These will promote a mutual understanding of all sectors including cooperation and guidelines to achieve maximum results in facing difficulties.

It also constitutes an exchange of knowledge and modern innovations. In addition, it presents readiness leading to cooperation in managing practice guidelines to achieve the highest results in facing and proactively managing PM2.5 problems in the Bangkok Metropolitan Area. The forum today was honored by experts with expertise regarding the environment. Participating in the discussion was Associate Professor Dr. Sarawut Thepanondh, Dean of the Faculty of Public Health. Mahidol University, Dr. Sakda Tridech, Director of Air Quality Model and Geographic Information Centre in Pollution Control Department, Ministry of Natural Resources and Environment, Mr. Wiruch Tanchanapradit Director of Air Quality and Noise Management Division Office of the Bangkok Environment, Assistant Professor Dr. Wan Wiriya Faculty of Science, Chiang Mai University and Assistant Professor Dr. Suwimon Kanchanasutha, Faculty of Public Health. Mahidol University. Approximately 150 participants attended the panel from both government and private sectors working on the environment including students and interested individuals.
