History

Faculty of Public Health, Mahidol University is the first public health academic institution in Thailand. The Faculty established as one of the Faculty in Mahidol University (former name was University of Medicine) since 1948.

At present, Faculty of Public Health produce graduatesin several major from Bachelor, Master and doctoral levels approximately 1,400 students per year. As the academic accepted standard wither national or international, Faculty of Public Health by corporation with international organization : SEAMEO-Trop-Med, WHO., UNICEF, World bank, etc., arranged the international study curriculum for master level since 1976 More over, Faculty of Public Health have the role in academic leader and develop country on academic management short training and help in academic service to Asia Pacific countries. For public health develop planning in academic service for social, faculty process either on urban or rural and industrial.

Faculty of Public Health, Mahidol University has Center of Health and Public Health & Environmental services for general health promotion service and environmental health promotion including industrial hygiene and safety in work job. Faculty has health promotion center which provide health promotion patients' screening diseases prevention for general people and center for practice on promotion of students' health and have the training center research on rural health, teaching and community service for develop public health and quality of population and responsible on manage last year of the study of students of various major fields in bachelor and some major in master to practice in community for 6 weeks to enhance professional skill for students and academic services which usefulness to all common communes.

At present, Faculty of Public Health, Mahidol University have 13 departments, there are Department of Public Health Nursing, Department of Microbiology, Department of Biostatistics, Department of Public Health Administration, Department of Parasitology and Entomology, Department of Nutrition, Department of Epidemiology, Department of Environmental Health Sciences, Department of Sanitary Engineering, Department of Health Education and Behavioral Sciences, Department of Community Health, Department of Family Health and Department of Occupational Health and Safety.
